Chateau Filhot (37.5cl)

Sauternes, Bordeaux - France

A blend of predominantly Sémillon and Sauvignon then a drop of Muscadelle to highlight the floral character. This dessert wine is smooth and deliciously sweet whilst being fine and utterly delicate. Their bouquet develops very well with ageing, becoming rich and complex with crystallised orange, hazel nut and honey notes. The 'rôti' is the specific character given by the noble rot (mould botrytis cinerea) to the Sauternes wines, which results in a unique flavour you will only find in wines created via this method.
Château Filhot was founded in 1709 by Romain de Filhot and is now owned and managed by one of his descendants: count Henri de Vaucelles. The estate covers an area of 350 hectares with 62 hectares of vineyard all along the south of the Sauternes village in the Sauternes appellation.
